Emerald City Comic Con tomorrow

Hello Everyone.

I am off to Emerald City Comic Con this weekend. The biggest Comic Con in the Pacific Northwest. If you haven't been to this Con and you are in the area you need to go if you can. It is a blast.

The show hours are:

2pm -8pm on Friday

10am -7pm on Saturday

and

10am to 5pm on Sunday.

I am at Booth 101, one of the first tables when you walk in to the Con by the ticket registration area.

Volume One and Volume Two of Centuri Way of the Ninja will be available at the show, ECCC being the debut of Volume Two.

I will also have all of the BIT+ Paper Toy available either as a DIY sheet or Assembled already in a box, as well as several new BIT+ Paper Toys from Series 5 "Indy Legends" that will be debuting at the show.

I will also have a new series of BIT+ debuting called BIT+MINI. The first of the BIT+MINI to be released is Series 1 "the Marvelous". The little Paper Toys stand at approx 3/4 of an inch tall, so for those of yo that have little shelf space left, this works perfectly.

If you are in the Seattle area be sure to stop by Booth 101 and say hello.

Everyone have a good weekend.

The templates for this new Paper Toy creation are available by here.

And with the release of Series 1 of "BIT+", I have also released a Series 0 which will feature the characters from the comic CENTURI Way of the Ninja.

The first two characters done in the "BIT+" style are CENTURI and BRAKKA. Available first on the blog.

Next month will see the release of an additional two more characters from the comic.

Enjoy,

ECCC recap and FanExpo Vancouver

Thank you to everyone that stopped bu in Emerald City Comic Con a couple of weeks ago.
I had a great time at the show meeting everyone.

One of the best show I have had so far and I am looking forward to next year already.

Friday was really busy. Way busier than last year. My kids loved running around at the show and had a great time chasing everyone dressed up as a Star Wars character.

Saturday was stupid busy. I left the table to get a crepe (oh they have the best crepes just outside of the convention centre) and pretty much ran back to the table as quick as I could due to the mobs of people everywhere. You could hardly move. If there is one compliant (a very small one), it would be larger aisles on the show floor (oh and more garbage cans). I stayed behind the table pretty much all of Saturday just to avoid trying to move on the floor.

Sunday was more relaxed. Still busy but not crazy busy like Saturday. I sold a few more books. Sold out the sheets for the Hare and Large Centuri Paper Toys. I thought that was pretty cool. Not bad considering I did not even have the sheets out on the table for Friday.

So, all in all ECCC was a wicked show. I already have a table booked for next year (got a booth for next year), so it will be year number 9 for me. One away until the big 10 year anniversary of Centuri WOTN. I gotta start pumping out the work to really make the upcoming years even better than this year.

On April 21st and 22nd, I will be in Vancouver for FAN EXPO Vancouver

It is the first year of the show and the first 2 day comic book show in Vancouver that I can remember. Really hoping it does great because Vancouver needs/deserves a big COMIC CON. There are just too many talented creators in the area to not have one.

Below is a map of the show floor and were you can find me in you are in the area. Be sure to pop by and check it out.

"TRAPPED" New chapter starts Wednesday

A new chapter of CENTURI Way of the Ninja webcomic starts on Wednesday.

I have started used Manga Studio alot of the backgrounds on this chapter, which is exciting for me. Finally I am using the program for what it should be used for.

In this chapter Centuri will face people from his past that will shed light on his origins and of coruse battle crazy villians in the high energy fighting webcomic.

Here is a look at the chapters' title page. Hope look check out the webcomic which still is keeping it's Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule.

And remember I will be at Emerald City Comic Con in the Artist Alley, Table N-08, on March 30, 31 and April 1st.

New Prototype Paper Toys

Some new Paper Toys that I have been working on. The characters are Brakka (from issues 4 to 5 of Centuri WOTN) and Suro (a new cat-themed character that is involved in the latest Centuri WOTN story currently running over at the Centuri WOTN webcomic .

I hope to have at least Brakka ready for ECCC and maybe Suro as well.

Trying something

So,

I haven't done anything new for the last couple weeks, which has been very bother some. I seem to be falling asleep too much, resulting in far less time to draw. With that said I have decided I am going to try drawing after work instead for the next week or so to see how it goes. With me working until the early hours of the night. and still having to get up by 8 to take my kid to school, I figure if I just stay awake until I take him to school I could possibly get 4 hours of drawing in a night and still have 5 to 6 hours of sleep before I have to get ready for work and pick up my kid from school. Since I am normally wired when I get home from work staying up shouldn't be a problem. And if I am tired at work, I know I should pass out when I get home and have a good 4 hours of sleep before getting up and my kid to school. Seems like a no brain er. The wife may not like it too much, but since I have been sleeping throughout the day anyways and I only have a 4 day work week, it won't be too much of a change. Just makes the honey do list longer on the weekends.

Asides from that, I have been rethinking how I would like to print my future books. I am leaning towards getting away from the normal 20 to 22 page length comic and more towards a 48 page comic. I would like to get more of the story out at once plus printing one larger book is cheaper than printing 2 smaller books. Breaking the 48 page book into 2 chapters would give it more of a manga feel to it as well, but also give me the chance to try some short stories with other characters that I have been wanting to do for awhile.

I have a list of conventions that I will be attending in 2012 already lined up or close to it:

Emerald City Comic Con  March 30th, 31th and April 1st

Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo   April 27th, 28th and 29th

Jet City Comic Show  September 22nd

There may be a couple of other shows but as of right now I am not sure. The plan is to have Centuri Way of the Ninja volume 2, as well as several new Paper Toys released for Emerald City. Hopefully all goes good.

Well, that's it for now. No new artwork to show or paper craft, but I should to have some new artwork up this weekend.

Manga Studios and Nice Paper Toys

Found out about a cool site called Nice paper Toys  http://www.nicepapertoys.com/

It's looks like a nice community of people that enjoy or create custom paper toys. Seems a little like facebook (from the small amount of facebook I have seen anyways) but for paper toy fans and creators. Definitely digging it so far.

I also decided to buy Manga Studio the other day.

I had heard many good things about it and a ton of artists that I have meet at conventions have been recommending it.  I got the Debut edition of it, the cheaper of the two (the other being the EX edition which is the professional edition). I played around with it alittle bit before going in to work yesterday and I found it very user friendly. Using the screen tones was very easy, which is good since it is the main reason I got it. Even though I finished Centuri Way of the Ninja issue 7, the plan is to go back a add a bunch of tones to the pages that should make the finished comic way better. There will probably be an extra page or two added since there is an area or two that I am not all that happy with in the comic.
With it being a long weekend up here in Canada, I plan on getting a lot done when it comes to issue 7 and issue 8 of Centuri Way of the Ninja. When I get some pages done I will post them.
